Bareshna holiday mini collection 2013-2014

Here is a little recap of Bareshna holiday mini collection 2013-2014.
The inspiration for it was my Slavic nature (hehe, I mean Slavic culture). I keep experimenting with the traditional folk sundress (sarafan) silhouette, floral prints, folk man's shirt, faux fur, etc. I also design garment with a specific person in my mind. I custom design for my friend's children. They are the adorable models that you are about to see.
First is the debut outfit of the Bareshna holiday mini-collection. Top is embellished with lace, ribbons, fur and feathers, full skirt is made with faux fur, boots are made of fleece. A head piece is made out of handmade lace, fleece and a string of rhinestones.








Next Bareshna dress was made of cotton and decorated with handmade lace. Boots are made of fleece and lace. Photo session included cooking making and eating :)
 


Next in the collection are the snake applique shirt( made of white and black jersey and printed cotton) and the black pants with pleats (made of suede and mesh materials). This garments are modeled by Alex. He is a dream model for every designer and photographer. He had more poses for me then I could ever imagine :)








As we are looking at the holiday mini collection, lets turn it into a winter fairytale.
Once upon a time in a far away land lived a beautiful bareshna. (wearing Bareshna felt dress embellished with handmade lace and floral print shirt).

She was in love with a handsome prince (wearing Bareshna shirt and vest) who was in love with her. They wanted to be together but their parents thoughts they were too young.


So prince traveled trough the woods...


 


slid down the hill...






and sneaked to Bareshna's house.




They run away together.


And hid in the ditch.


And the prince was going to protect Bareshna.

They were discovered by their mommies and asked for the help to get out of the ditch.

Slavic Tea Party Baby Shower

Baby shower organized by my darling friend Elena

was beautiful. Knowing her I knew that it would be beautiful, but she managed to surprise me again. Actually, she does it quite a lot. But this is another story. Today's story is about our Slavic Tea Party Baby Shower.
I am from Belarus, one of the Slavic countries. So, when we settle on the theme, we chose all kind of Slavic goodies to support it:

An great BIG spasibo=thank you to Elena who thought through, organized, cooked and made all these Slavic beauty and to all my guests for their love and care. Taking about care, here are some party favors for our guests. So that they also are taken care of.

Back porch play

We love to play on our back porch. We draw, play with sand, bricks, blocks, water table, etc. We even have picnics on the back porch floor. So, I constantly move things around on the back porch to keep it more or less organized.
We had some random pieces of oriented strand board on hand which we decided to chalkboard paint and use for the pack porch play.


Then we placed them on the back porch and drew some buildings on it.

We also drew a park with some plants and watered them. Plants need water to grow, don't you know :)

After that we let the construction site move in:

and the parking garage made from a carton box


and used some space for the space



and made home for Lalaloopsy dolls:


We probably will move things around again and again. The imagination is a limit when it comes to play :)
